Dierk Rambali Soccer Marathon to Kick Cancer

IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN!

Soccer marathons have been widely successful throughout Canada for the past several years.  This will be the second such event for our committee.  The purpose of the event is to raise funds for the Alberta Cancer Foundation; while hosting a fun community wide co-ed event for all ages and skill levels to enjoy. 

As have many Albertans, the soccer community lost a friend, coach, player, referee and soccer enthusiast in Dierk Rambali when he was unexpectedly diagnosed and passed away of Pancreatic Cancer in 2009.  This event is named in his honor and spirited in the honor of all loved ones who have been diagnosed or affected by any form of cancer.

The 2009 event raised and donated $8,000 to the Alberta Cancer Foundation, and the hope is to surpass that amount with the help of players, sponsors, and volunteers.

WHEN:  Saturday, April 24th, 2010 - 10:00am - 10:00pm
WHERE:  Red Deer Collicutt Centre Indoor Soccer Pavilion - 3031 - 30 Avenue, Red Deer
WHO:  Anyone 6 or over
